commemoration

I carve memorials and commemorative plaques, usually in stone, sometimes in wood. Much work comes via Suffolk-based commissioning agency Memorials by Artists. Current work for them includes a memorial seat for their forthcoming National Collection of Contemporary Memorial Art at West Dean.
Occasionally I carve an inscription for a client's garden, where there is greater freedom for designing a memorial - perhaps a carved bowl, a birdbath, a standing stone or specially shaped piece inscribed with poetry.
